Credential Evaluation Requirements

What you need to do:

Follow the steps below to complete your WES application:

  1. Select Canada for your evaluation.
  2. Select WES Standard Application.
  3. Add the “Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers” (OCSWSSW) as a recipient.
  4. Select WES International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP) Course-by-Course (CxC) as the evaluation type (required by the OCSWSSW).

Note: If you already have a WES application or an evaluation report for immigration purposes, or if you previously obtained a WES ICAP Document-by-Document (DxD) evaluation, you must upgrade it to a WES ICAP Course-by-Course evaluation.

Follow the country-specific document requirements and arrange for your documents to be delivered to WES.

For Refugees and Displaced Persons Wishing to Apply for Registration with the OCSWSSW

The WES Gateway Program supports the educational and career advancement of refugees and other forcibly displaced individuals who cannot obtain official academic documents from their country of education. If this applies to you, learn more about eligibility for the WES Gateway Program and how to obtain a WES Gateway evaluation report. You may also contact OCSWSSW directly for assistance.

  1. Verify your academic records.

  2. Prepare an official credential evaluation.

  3. Deliver your evaluation report and verified copies of your transcripts directly to the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
