Enhancing Digital Verification of Indian Academic Records: A New Partnership

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and World Education Services (WES) have signed an agreement to streamline the verification and transfer of digital academic records from India. Under the partnership, NSDC will enable the fast and secure transfer of verified digital academic documents from Indian education institutions and boards to WES.  

NSDC is a non-profit public limited company set up in 2008 by India’s Ministry of Finance. Among a range of other services it offers, NSDC provides a streamlined, secure, and time-efficient way to verify and transfer academic records. 

Learners can upload their documents to their NSDC digital wallet. NSDC will then proceed to verify the academic records. The use of credential depositories enables automated verification. Where central depositories are not available, NSDC relies on an extensive, trusted verification network. Once the verification process is complete, NSDC transmits the documents to WES through a secure, encrypted channel. This leads to shorter turnaround times and an enhanced customer experience for institutions and applicants that receive WES credential evaluations. 

This enhanced verification process minimizes the risk of credential fraud, benefiting institutions that receive academic documents and credential evaluations from WES. The use of an extensive, trusted verification network and private blockchain technology guarantees the security of the verification results and renders documents tamper-proof. 

The partnership with NSDC offers all WES applicants from India the additional option of sharing their academic records with WES. NSDC’s network of institutions across India offers learners easy and convenient access to document verification and sharing. The convenience and accessibility of the process will enhance learners’ mobility and empower more students from India to reach their immigration, career, and study goals.
