WES Credential Evaluation Pricing Explained

WES Staff | June 12, 2025

If you’re thinking of relocating to the United States or Canada, consider obtaining a credential evaluation. Credential evaluation reports can be an asset to those interested in pursuing academic or professional opportunities in their new country. Planning and budgeting for one now could be a smart, proactive move.

The cost of a WES credential evaluation can vary based on the number of copies you order, and the delivery options you choose. In this blog post, we’ll explain how these choices affect the total cost of a report, so you can make an informed decision.

The type of evaluation report you need

WES reports vary in scope, purpose, and cost, and the type you choose will depend on your goal. To find out what type of report you need, ask the report recipient—the institution, employer, or organization you plan to send the report to—if it prefers a specific type of report or credential evaluation provider.

You can begin the process of obtaining a credential evaluation as you work through confirming the necessary details. As you create your WES account and begin your application, we’ll collect the particulars, such as the country where you plan to use your report and the report purpose—education, employment, licensing, or immigration—to guide you to the most appropriate report option and service.

WES offers Document-by-Document (DxD) and Course-by-Course (CxC) evaluation reports, which are suitable for education, employment, and licensing purposes. Both types of reports provide the U.S. or Canadian equivalency for each credential listed on your application. The CxC provides additional detailed analysis of each course listed on your transcript including GPA and credits.

WES charges per application rather than by individual credential. If you have two or more degrees, including them all on your initial application will save you the time and expense of applying for another credential evaluation in the future.

The package you select

When you apply for a standard credential evaluation (DxD or CxC are considered standard), you have the option of choosing between two package types: basic or the International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP).

ICAP includes all the above plus secure storage and delivery of your verified transcripts to recipient institutions. This is a convenient option if you are planning to share your credential evaluation report and verified transcripts with another institution or company in the future. The basic package does not keep your report or transcripts on file.

Number of copies and delivery method

Your total cost will depend in part on how many copies of your credential evaluation you order and how you choose to have them delivered.

Once the evaluation is complete, you’ll receive a physical copy for your personal records, and a PDF version will be accessible in your WES account. Please note, for DxD and CxC orders, the PDF is an unofficial copy.

You can order additional physical copies for a fee, with the option of requesting sealed envelopes—recommended for schools, employers, and other institutions. Many recipients require the sealed envelopes to be sent directly from WES in order for the reports to be considered official, so remember to confirm this beforehand.

If an official copy of the report must be sent directly from WES, you can request mail delivery or electronic transmission, depending on the recipient. Some organizations have special delivery arrangements with WES. If electronic delivery is available, you’ll be notified along with the associated cost to ensure a smooth and secure process. A fee is charged for each recipient copy.

After you submit your application and payment, you can log in to your WES account and modify your order up until you receive a notification that your report is complete.
