Refugee Pilot Project

Every day, more than 30,000 people from around the globe are forcibly displaced as a result of persecution or war. Many who look to North America as a place to rebuild their lives have difficulty securing new employment, professional licensing, or continued education because they have lost access to their academic documents.

To help these individuals resume their education or find employment, WES has partnered with immigrant-service organizations in Toronto, Ottawa, and Calgary to develop and test a Refugee Pilot Project. The project is designed to assess the credentials of Syrian refugees in Canada who do not have adequate academic documentation.
