Join a WES Webinar

Registering for and joining a WES webinar is easy—you can register for any of our live and on-demand webinars online. All of our webinars are free and available to anyone, anywhere. In this blog post, you will learn how to sign up  for and watch a WES webinar on the Webex platform.

Live WES Webinars

Our live webinars are digital web events with attendees. At live webinars, participation is encouraged through interactive elements such as polls and the question and answer portion at the end in which attendees can ask the panelists questions that are related to the webinar topic.

On-Demand WES Webinars

On-demand webinars are recordings of live webinars. Although you can watch an on-demand webinar recording at any time, you cannot interact with or submit questions to the panelists since the live event has already taken place.

How to Register for a WES Webinar

To register for a live or on-demand WES webinar, go to the WES Events page, click on the specific webinar you would like to attend, and enter your email address.

Once your webinar registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email with the information necessary to access the audio and visual components of the webinar. In the confirmation email, you will find:

  • Scheduling information (including the date, time, and time zone for live webinars)
  • Login and password instructions (including the session number and session password)
  • A URL that links you to the webinar visual presentation on the day of the event
  • Information on how to test your computer system* to ensure you have the necessary technology requirements on your personal computer to access the visual part of the webinar
  • Contact information if you need support

It is important to test your system before the day of the webinar. You can visit the Webex Test Meeting page to test your system.

How to Join a Live Webinar

You will receive a reminder email the day of the live webinar. Please open the email and click on the link to access the visual presentation (or copy and paste the URL into a web browser).

Your login and password should be automatically loaded into the prompts. If they are not, copy and paste both the login and password from the confirmation email and click Enter. All passwords are case-sensitive.

Once you are logged onto the visual presentation of the webinar, you will be prompted to connect to the audio portion of the presentation through your computer audio, or dialing in from your phone.

You will enter the presentation in listen-only mode to avoid any audio disruptions during the presentation.

Frequently Asked Webinar Questions

Will I receive a copy of the presentation?

All approved webinar participants receive a recording of the webinar and a copy of both the PowerPoint presentation and any resources discussed within two weeks of the webinar date.

Will I be able to ask the presenter specific questions?

Yes—due to the large number of attendees, webinar participants are muted throughout the presentation. However, you can type out your question and send it to the webinar host using the Webex chat box. The presenter will answer questions during the question and answer portion at the end of the webinar. Although webinar presenters try to answer as many questions as possible, they may not be able to answer every question due to time constraints.

What will I need to view and listen to the presentation?

You will need a computer with the following:

  1. Computer minimum requirements:

Windows:

  • Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000, or XP
  • Intel Pentium, 266 MHz
  • 64 MB available RAM
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, or Netscape 7 or later*
  • JavaScript and cookies must be enabled in the browser
  • 56K or faster Internet connection

Mac:

  • Macintosh OS 10.2 or later
  • 64 MB available RAM
  • Safari (recommended), Microsoft IE 5.2 or later, or Netscape 7
  • Java, Javascript, and cookies must be enabled in the browser
  • 56K or faster Internet connection
  1. Speakers or headset to listen to audio through your computer.

*You may also access the audio portion of the webinar using your mobile phone.

What should I do if I am having technical difficulties during a live webinar and cannot hear the speaker?

Send a private message to the webinar host using the Webex chat box. You may need to troubleshoot to ensure that:

  • Your speakers are turned up to the proper volume
  • Your headset is connected and working properly
  • Your internet connection is fast enough
