Financial Services Bridge to Work Training Program

Friday October 21, 2016 | by WES Advisor

Bridge to work training programs are designed to help those who are new to Canada to quickly enter the labour market. In these programs, your professional skills and competencies are evaluated against those skills required in the Canadian labour market. The training provided in the program helps to fill in any gaps that may exist and also to provide opportunities to gain Canadian workplace experience.

Seneca College in Toronto offers a bridging program for those with backgrounds in financial services. Seneca College has approximately 17,000 full-time and 90,000 part-time students and it offers programs at the baccalaureate, diploma, certificate, and graduate levels.

The Financial Service Essentials (FSE) bridging program is a certificate program designed for internationally educated professionals and is delivered in an accelerated two-semester part-time format with classes on evenings and Saturdays.

Program Eligibility Criteria/Entry Requirements

  • A relevant degree or diploma from an accredited institution outside of Canada
  • Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Assessment at a minimum of Level 7
  • Permanent Resident, Internationally Trained Canadian Citizen, or Protected Person, as defined in Section 95 of the IRPA and a resident of Ontario

Some participants may be eligible to have some costs covered through government bursaries and training subsidies.
