Located in Salem, Oregon, only one hour from Portland to the north and the Pacific coast to the west, Willamette University’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management offers a unique environment for international students interested in pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in the U.S.
Recently named by Forbes as the top-ranked MBA program in Oregon, Willamette MBA has full and part-time programs for students in all career stages.
What Does Willamette MBA Offer International Students?
Willamette MBA takes a distinctive approach to students who are early in their career or are recent college graduates. The Early Career and Career Change MBA program, in particular, is geared toward international students with little to no professional working experience, or who want to switch careers.
According to Aimee Akimoff, the Director of Recruitment for Willamette’s full-time MBA program, “The Early Career and Career Change MBA is uniquely designed for recent college graduates by building their experience while pursuing an MBA. Through innovative programs, students are put on the front line managing real dollars, investing in real start-ups, and funding real not-for-profit organizations that impact the community.”
The Early Career and Career Change MBA program is of special interest to international students who want to gain resume-building experience by working in the U.S. while also pursuing a degree. Thanks to the university’s Career Management group, students can take advantage of career fairs, mock interviews, mentorships, and other career support opportunities on campus.
Students in the Early Career and Career Change MBA program can also choose to pursue a dual degree, combining their MBA with either a liberal arts or law degree.
Financial Aid Opportunities
Funding and scholarship opportunities for international students at Willamette MBA are limited. They include the Global Diversity Scholarship, which is awarded to a maximum of two students from each country per class, and provides funding in the range of $19,000 to full tuition.
Because abundant funding is not available, international students are expected to contribute their own funding to the total cost of the MBA program.
