Undergraduate Applicants with Foreign Credentials
Dear Applicant,
As you know, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at UNC Charlotte requires that all internationally-educated applicants have their foreign credentials evaluated and recomends World Education Services (WES).
- FIRST YEAR (FRESHMEN) UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS should request WES'
Document by Document Report, and submit all secondary school (high school) transcripts, copies of diplomas and certifications of any external exams.
- Note: First year applicants are those who have only completed secondary school education or are less than one semester away from secondary school graduation.
- TRANSFER UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS must request WES'
Course By Course Report and submit all transcripts of college/university level work, and -if applicable- secondary school (high school) transcripts, copies of diplomas and certifications of any external exams.
- Note: Transfer applicants are those who have already attended college/university abroad and wish to have this course work applied to their program of study at UNC Charlotte.
- Transfer applicants with less than two years of college/university level work (equivalent to at least 60 undergraduate credit hours in the US) must also have their secondary school (high school) transcripts and diplomas evaluated.
- 2nd DEGREE UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS must request WES'
Course By Course Report and submit all transcripts and diplomas of college/university level work.
- Note: 2nd Degree Seeking applicants are those who already have earned a college/university degree abroad, equivalent to a 4-yr U.S. Bachelor's degree, and who wish to earn a 2nd degree at the undergraduate level at UNC Charlotte.
The
Required Documents section offers a listing of specific requirements per country, including whether you or the institution(s) you attended must submit
your educational documents to WES.
The Application section offers an online application or downloadable forms that you will need to apply for the foreign credential evaluation.
When completing the "Send an Evaluation Report to" section of the WES application please make sure to designate UNC Charlotte as a recipient of your report using the exact address provided below. This will ensure the fastest transmission of your WES evaluation to UNC Charlotte's Office of Undergraduate Admissions and expedite the processing of your application for admission.

Closely follow the other guidelines set by WES so the credential evaluation may be performed in a timely fashion.
