WES Research and Advisory Services’ Research Report "Not All International Students are the Same: Understanding Segments, Mapping Behavior” (August 2012) highlights how differences in academic preparedness and financial resources impact the school choices and information-seeking behavior of prospective international students looking to study at higher education institutions in the United States. The report is based on survey results from 1,600 international students considering applying to U.S. higher education institutions. It identifies four key segments of prospective international
students and offers advice on utilizing the most effective channels when recruiting from the different segments.
