Workforce 1 Career Centers: Workforce1 Career Centers are a partnership of agencies and organizations working together to provide free job training, recruitment, and placement services whether you are unemployed, hoping to make a mid-career change, or looking for your first job. There are Centers in each of the 5 boroughs. See Career Center Locator.
Healthcare Career Center: There is a new Workforce1 Healthcare Career Center located at LaGuardia Community College. This center focuses on the opportunities within the growing health care sector.
NY JobZone: JobZone is a free, online job search and career planning system that can help you make informed career decisions. JobZone provides access to up-to-date job postings and basic job preparation tools such as a resume builder, reference list maker and cover letter application.
Upwardly Global: Serving work-authorized, immigrant professional jobseekers Upwardly Global helps them write résumés, sharpen interviewing skills and develop professional networks. For workshops on U.S. job search skills, check out their workshop calendar.
The Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS): DCAS is the department responsible for the hiring of personnel for nearly all New York City government agencies. New York State Department of Civil Service (NYSDCS): You can access NY State government jobs and examinations through their web page. Information on how to access local government job announcements is also available.
New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJCSC): NJCSC is responsible of the recruitment and examination of qualified candidates for all New Jersey state agencies. For job announcements and civil service examinations visit their web page.
Connecticut State Department of Administrative Services (DAS): DAS is the agency responsible for civil service jobs and examinations for all state agencies in Connecticut.
