New York State Licensure: In this page you can find professional licensing requirements in New York State and the list of professional associations. NY State performs its own evaluations of foreign academic credentials. Evaluations from external evaluations services are not accepted for licensing purposes in NY State.

New Jersey State Licensure: You can read about professional licensing requirements in New Jersey. Generally, NJ licensing boards require external credential evaluations such as those provided by WES.
Connecticut State Licensure: Visit Connecticut Licensing Info Center for information and resources. Generally, CT licensing boards require external credential evaluations such as those provided by WES.

PROGRAMS FOR IMMIGRANT PROFESSIONALS
All Professions
Upwardly Global is a nonprofit organization that brings highly qualified immigrants and employers together. Through their Job Seeker Program, eligible immigrant professionals learn job search skills and meet prospective employers.
CAMBA’s Immigrant Professional Training Program offers participants the opportunity to gain the tools and skills to successfully navigate difficult licensing, education, and employment systems in the U.S. The training is a seven-week seminar on professional development.
Health Care Professions
There is a new Workforce1 Healthcare Career Center located at LaGuardia Community College. One of the missions of the Center is to assist foreign-trained health professionals in earning a U.S. license to work in their profession.
Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty offers programs and services for foreign-trained health professionals including NCLEX exam preparation and assistance in navigating application process.
Foreign-educated registered nurses who want to prepare for the NCLEX licensing examination and gain clinical experience in New York State nursing practices can apply for the Foreign-Trained Professionals Program at the 1199SEIU Funds.
Program applicants must be members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
Science and Engineering Professions
Immigrant professionals with engineering and other technical skills can apply for the Re-Training Program for Immigrants that is offered by the Bnai Zion Foundation and the Cooper Union Engineering School. The program offers continuing education courses and job placement assistance.
