WES Web Tool for International Admissions Launched at NAFSA New York, NY (May 26, 2009) – World Education Services (WES) launches the WES iGPA Calculator, a tool for international admissions. This time-saving online tool will help universities and colleges efficiently calculate an international student’s grades into a US equivalent. “Early interest in the WES iGPA has exceeded our expectations,” said Frank Guttilla, Director of Product Management. “Dozens of institutions signed up for our two-week free trial before the tool has officially launched.” The WES iGPA Calculator automatically loads country grading scales and then easily converts grades from over 135 countries into US grades. With the click of a button, a cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale is instantly calculated. The tool has been beta-tested by over 30 admissions officers in US and Canadian educational institutions such as the University of Arizona Graduate School, the University of Notre Dame – Mendoza College of Business, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). “After listening to customer needs WES is now offering a number of international enrollment solutions built on our 35 years of experience explaining international education. Our twice-monthly webinar series, supplementing our well-known workshop series, is giving hundreds of institutions access to valuable information about education systems around the world. The WES iGPA is our newest tool in support of international mobility,” said Betty Wong, Deputy Executive Director of Customer Insight. To use the WES iGPA, institutions will pay an annual subscription fee, starting at $595, based on the number of full-time enrollments. There is also an unlimited-users option. A two-week free trial is available at www.wes.org/igpa starting today. Institutions interested in more information should contact Frank Guttilla at fguttill@wes.org. |
