WES Launches Community Engagement Initiative: Hosts Forum on Highly Qualified Immigrants

In conjunction with the launch of our new community engagement initiative and in celebration of our 35th year of service to the immigrant community, WES hosted a forum entitled "New York's Global Talent Pool: Integrating Our Highly-Qualified Immigrants" on November 12th, 2009.

More than 150 attendees representing community organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions heard presentations and held active discussions concerning the valuable contributions made by immigrants to our community.

The forum featured leading practitioners, educators and policy experts who discussed:

Characteristics and contributions of New York’s well-educated immigrants

Key obstacles that limit immigrants’ access to professional and academic opportunities

Innovative programs and best practices that leverage immigrant talent
