Changes to HK's New Academic Structure and the upcoming HKDSE were topics of discussion

World Education Services, Inc. (WES) was visited by the Hong Kong(HK) Special Administrative Region education delegation led by Permanent Secretary of Education, Mr. Raymond Wong. Mr. Wong was accompanied by Mr. Eddie Ng Hak-kim, Chairman of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority. (The HK Examinations and Assessment Authority administers the new HK Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination.) Mr. Wong and the delegation had a discussion about the new academic structure and the HKDSE with Mariam Assefa, executive director of WES, and Margarita Sianou, deputy executive director, evaluations. The HKDSE will be replacing the current HKCEE (HK Certificate of Education Exam) and HKALE (HK Advanced Level Exam) starting in 2012. WES was one of several stops for the delegation on a trip that included visits with the US Department of Education, the College Entrance Exam Board, the American Council on Education, the California Department of Education, City University of New York, New York University, the University of California, Berkeley, and Stanford University.
