World Education News & Reviews to be Offered Free of Charge!Dear eWENR readers: Starting with the January/February 2001 issue, World Education News & Reviews will be offered on the Internet free of charge. As many of you may have noticed, eWENR has undergone many changes since we took it online two years ago. What began as a 12-page printed newsletter has rapidly expanded into a dynamic, electronic publication featuring -- on average -- 26 pages of articles, book reviews, news flashes and practical information geared toward international higher education professionals. Not only has the Internet allowed us to publish longer articles and news items, but we have also become much more of an interactive publication in cyberspace, providing useful links to universities, higher education organizations and government ministries throughout the world. We also added a convenient search box for archival retrievals and introduced limited free access to eWENR for non-subscribers. Other improvements are forthcoming. Our mission here at eWENR has always been to provide readers with the most thorough, up-to-date information on educational trends and developments from around the world. We believe eWENR contains news and data that are vital to everyone working within the field of international education. This brings us to our second objective: to reach the widest possible audience. Offering universal free access online will effectively broaden our readership and benefit education professionals in countries on all five continents. We will continue to maintain the high standards readers have come to expect from the newsletter over the years. Free access to all on the World Wide Web can only enhance the quality of articles and news bulletins we bring you as eWENR strives to become a truly global publication on the cutting edge of international education. Sincerely Yours, Robert Sedgwick
