Undergraduate Survey

Conducted by a private research firm in conjunction with the National Union of Israeli Students, and now in its second year, a poll published in a pamphlet for prospective students attempts to gauge which schools provide the best atmosphere, academic and otherwise, for undergraduate students.

The ranking is based on a representative sample of the student body at each academic institution of higher education in Israel. A total of 7,500 students were surveyed in 2006. Among the criteria assessed by the rankers are classroom size, treatment of students by administrative staff, parking, social life, study conditions, cleanliness and the percentage of full-time professors on faculty.

Institutional research output was not taken into consideration, which might help explain the relative success of colleges over universities.
