World Education Services Signs New Partnership With Embark

Embark's Web site, which now featues WES credential evaluations, can be found at www.embark.com.

World Education Services (WES) is reaching out to international students through a new partnership with Embark, a leading online resource for higher education. Prospective students using Embark's Web site, www.embark.com, can now request to have their academic credentials evaluated and sent to the schools to which they are applying.

According to the most recent Open Doors report, more than 500,000 international students were enrolled in U.S. institutions of higher education in 1999/2000, an increase of almost 5 percent compared to the previous year. One of the biggest challenges these students face is obtaining recognition for previous educational experiences in their native countries.

Under the new partnership, students can access WES applications and information directly from Embark's Web site. The Embark site features comprehensive information pertaining to studying abroad, required visa documentation, standardized tests and online applications to hundreds of U.S. undergraduate and graduate programs.

"Embark's Web site is highly trafficked by students around the world," said Mariam Assefa, executive director and CEO of WES. "We are very pleased to partner with Embark and make our services more accessible to the thousands of students who apply to U.S. institutions each year."

According to Phillip Dunkelberger, Embark's president and CEO: "Foreign students who apply to U.S. universities face many hurdles. Through our new partnership with WES, we are helping to make one more part of the entire process easier for both students and admissions officers."
