- ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
- Elementary education is free and compulsory for all
children in Sri Lanka. The
curriculum of the primary cycle is largely integrated.

- Sinhala and Tamil are official languages, and English
is the link language. The
medium of instruction in school is generally Sinhala or Tamil. English is taught starting from Grade IV.
