- Assessment and Promotion:
- Students are continuously assessed through coursework and written and oral
examinations. At the end of lower
secondary education students must sit the leaving examination (examen de
capacitate). The examination
includes the following subjects: Romanian language and literature, mathematics,
Romanian history and Romanian geography. Students
belonging to national minorities and receiving instruction in their mother
language must sit a supplementary examination in their respective mother
language and literature. Successful
students receive a Certificat/Diplomă de Absolvire a Gimnaziulu (Certificate/Diploma of
Graduation) or a Certificat de Absolvire a Īnvăţămīntului
de 8 Ani (Certificate of Graduation from 8 Year Education), which
entitles them to apply for the entrance examination for upper secondary school
and vocational school. Any pupil who has completed lower secondary education
with or without a leaving certificate, can apply for the entrance examination
for apprenticeship schools.
