Assessment and Promotions
Promotion in primary education is based upon the teacher's on-going evaluation of the student's performance, aptitude and behavior. There are no standardized examinations. Upon completion of the sixth year of primary education, students are awarded the Certificado de Educación Primaria (Certificate of Primary Education), which along with an entrance examination (depending on the institution's criteria), is the requirement for acceptance to secondary schools.
