MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL MIDWIFERY BRIDGING PROJECT (MMBP) PILOT PROGRAM
To apply to the MMBP, applicants applying to practice in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan must have a credential evaluation report
completed by World Education Services of Canada (WES) and sent directly to the midwifery regulatory organization in their province of
application. Applicants applying to Manitoba may submit a WES report, or they can request that the College of Midwives of Manitoba (CMM)
assess their credentials directly. See www.midwiferybridging.ca for more information about CMM requirements related to the assessment of
credentials, and about other aspects of the MMBP application process.
Evaluation Requirements
The MMBP requires a Course-by-Course evaluation report of your midwifery credentials, and, if you completed post-nursing midwifery education, of your nursing credentials.
Documents Required by WES
Official Documents: The MMBP requires that WES base its Course-by-Course evaluation report on Official documents for each
credential. For documents to be considered official, they must be sent directly to WES by the educational institutions you attended.
The official documents must indicate the name of the credential, the courses or subjects studied, the grades earned, the hours of study or number of credits for each course, and the date of graduation. These documents may be called an academic record, transcript, detailed marks card, relevé de notes, examination report, extract, student's book, index, or other names, depending on the country from which it is issued.
WES understands that it can be difficult and costly for some clients to arrange for official documents to be sent to our office. Official documents are required to use your report for entry to the Multi-jurisdictional Midwifery Bridging Project (MMBP). WES cannot waive this requirement.
For WES required documents, which are country specific, visit www.wes.org/ca/required.
- Translations: All required documents written in a language other than English must be accompanied by an English translation completed by a certified translator. All translated documents must also be submitted with the original in the original language.
- Proof of Language of Instruction: The MMBP requires information about the language of instruction during your education.
The WES Evaluation Report lists all of the languages of instruction that were used in your program of study. If, for example, you
studied in English and another language, the report will indicate both of your languages of instruction - not just the English. If
your program is offered in several languages, but your language of instruction was exclusively in English, then you will have to make
arrangements with your institution to verify this information. The best way to do this is to have your institution enclose additional
documentation with your official documents confirming your language of instruction.
COPIES OF REPORT
All clients receive two copies of the completed evaluation report. The first copy is always sent to you. As required for application to
MMBP, the second copy of your report will be sent directly to the midwifery regulatory organization that you indicate on your WES Application
Form. (This must be your province of application)
