Credentialing of Non- Canadian Academic Credentials for the Manitoba Institute of Agrologists
The Manitoba Institute of Agrologists (MIA) regulates the practice of agrology in Manitoba. MIA specifies the education required for registration and membership in order to practice. Applicants who have not received their education in Canada must have their foreign transcripts assessed on a course-by-course basis by World Education Services (WES). Credentialing assessment means converting foreign academic credentials into their Canadian educational equivalents. The WES assessment facilitates a review of education and other qualification information by the MIA Board of Examiners. The WES process does not replace the requirement of MIA for other official documents.
Applicants who intend to register with the MIA should request the Comprehensive Course-by-Course evaluation report from WES. This report provides a breakdown of all post-secondary study in terms of Canadian credits, grade equivalents and grade point average (GPA). The MIA Board of Examiners will use the Course-by-course evaluation report in conjunction with other application and qualifications documentation to reach a decision.
WES will send the Comprehensive Course-by-course assessment directly to MIA.
