WES Evaluation Reports
Licensing bodies can use WES evaluations secure in the knowledge that they are based on verified documents and prepared
by experts using the most advanced evaluation information, methods and tools. The verified transcripts/documents that the WES evaluation is based on are available
to licensing bodies in one complete package, the WES ICAP: International Credential Advantage Package.
With WES ICAP, you can receive a candidate's verified transcripts along with their WES evaluation report. If you are interested in receiving a candidate’s transcripts, please advise them to order the WES ICAP service.
The WES evaluation was designed with input from academic institutions and licensing bodies. In a clear and consistent manner, it presents all the items that are essential for licensing bodies in determining whether candidates meet the academic standards required for licensing or certification eligibility.
WES offers two types of evaluations: the Course-by-Course report and Document-by-Document report; most licensing bodies rely upon the detailed Course-by-Course report. These reports are described below, with sample reports provided for reference.
Comprehensive Course-by-Course Report
When a detailed evaluation of the candidate’s academic performance is essential, the Course-by-Course Report is recommended.
It provides a description of each diploma or certificate, indicates periods of education and provides an equivalency for each
document and verifies the authenticity of the credentials received. In addition, it includes:
- A list of all subjects completed at the post-secondary level
- A Canadian semester credit and grade equivalent for each course
- A Canadian grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale
- Upon request, WES may be able to provide additional information

Document-by-Document Report
A Document-by-Document evaluation identifies and describes each diploma or certificate, indicates periods of education
and provides an equivalency for each document. It verifies the authenticity of the credentials received, but does not
provide the more detailed analysis found in the reports listed above.
