Atlantic leaders looking for ways to attract new immigrants Leaders from Atlantic Canada met on May 15th, 2005 to discuss strategies to make the region attractive to new immigrants. The meeting was organized by the Atlantic Mayors' Congress to assess the reason behind low immigration rates to provinces such as Nova Scotia, which currently attracts only 2% of new immigrants who are coming to Canada.
