World Education Services (WES) is a not for profit organization dedicated to providing accurate and reliable assessments of academic credentials earned outside Canada and the United States. Its mission is to facilitate the integration of foreign trained individuals into the employment and education environment of their new country.
WES has been operating in the United States since 1974, and is recognized widely for the credibility and accuracy of its assessments. It is the largest and one of the oldest of such services in North America. In 2000, it assessed over 36,000 documents from virtually every country in the world. Its work is based on thorough and ongoing research, using continually updated information on education systems around the world.
In March of 2000, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities awarded WES a contract to begin operating an academic credentials evaluation service in Ontario.
What is credential assessment? Credential assessment means converting foreign academic credentials into their Ontario educational equivalents. WES produces an individualized, written report describing each certificate, diploma or degree you have earned and specifying its Ontario equivalent.
What can an assessment do for me? By converting your educational qualifications into their Ontario equivalents, the assessment allows academic institutions or employers in Ontario to understand them.
Italso gives you an indication of what to expect when you presentyour educational credentials for study or employment in Ontario.
