Information for the Office of the Inspector of Independent Schools, Ministry of Education, British Columbia
British Columbia’s Office of the Inspector of Independent Schools requires that applicants for independent school teacher certification who have completed their education outside of Canada get their transcripts evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation agency, such as World Education Services (WES). Credential evaluation means converting foreign academic credentials into their Canadian education equivalents.
Applicants are asked to get a Course-by-Course evaluation. This report provides a breakdown of all post-secondary study in terms of Canadian credits, equivalents and grade point averages (GPAs). The evaluation will be sent directly to BC’s Office of the Inspector of Independent Schools by WES. In your WES application, indicate that the second copy of the evaluation (after your own) should be sent to the BC Office of the Inspector of Independent Schools.
