Part 1: July 24-25 Practical Skills in International Credential Evaluation – Undergraduate
Admissions
Focusing on undergraduate admissions, this workshop will begin by introducing you to the best methods for obtaining complete and authentic international credentials. Exploring the seed systems on which most systems of education are based- including the U.S.- expert evaluators will guide you through the evaluation of international secondary credentials. You will also learn how to interpret international grades for accurate grade conversion and credit transfer. This intensive hands-on workshop uses actual credentials for samples and practice exercises. All participants will receive a detailed WES credential evaluation handbook for undergraduate admissions. Topics Include:
- Obtaining authentic credentials
- Comparing systems of education
- Making accurate grade conversion and transfer credit decisions
- Uncovering invaluable resources
Part 2: July 26-27 Recruiting International Students in a Competitive Environment
An absolute must for anyone involved with the recruitment of international students for graduate and undergraduate programs, this comprehensive workshop focuses on current trends in international recruitment. You will learn the fundamentals of researching, planning and budgeting a recruitment campaign. After investigating best practices of successful recruiters, you will be able to generate more effective approaches for your institution’s recruitment strategy. Topics include:
- Enrollment planning, student mobility flows and market analysis
- Essential recruitment activities, including use of the internet
- Effective marketing and communications planning
- Allocation of your advertising and promotions budget
- Programs from embassies and sponsoring agencies
